Just out of curiosity how would a Nosler Partition compare the MK318? Perhaps the 77gr CC and their 64gr BSB could have a love child.

I can obtain mk262 clone ammo.
I can no longer find mk318 ammo.
If mk318 was readily available, I'd stash a few cases away.
I'd love to see M855 replaced with mk318, and be available and at the same price as M855. But I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for that to happen.
Thanks for the clarity, Molon. I remembered seeing the cross sections somewhere on the interwebz, but I couldn't remember where from.
I remembered it being spoken about, possibly in a PowerPoint or by DocGKR, as being an easy and quick modification of an existing COTS design where ATK worked with the USMC on it.

So I have a question for you guys. With the premium price that some of these rounds command would a move to 6.8 in an sbr be logical. One of the knocks of the 6.8 is cost of ammo but if the ammo is high anyway why not get the better ballistics.

Between Ml318 and M262 ID do the M262. Easier to find and has a proven track record in combat at distance.
