Either will be fine in my humble opinion. I can't remember if there is 2 3 4 .... they are all more alike than different.

If I'm not mistaken, the PRS gen 2 only works with A1/A2 rifle length receiver extensions. The gen 2 can work with the A5 length extension, meaning you don't even have to swap the extension out on an MWS lower to install it. The tapered bag rider and built in QD sockets on the gen 3 are also a nice touch.

Good note. I think you have to choose whether its rifle stock or AR15 carbine stock, not positive. But there is some issue with it, and with the gen 3 , it works with all platforms. I ordered mine backorder from Brownells and just waited. Its worth waiting to get the gen 3.

Notes on the Gen III

The buttstock has an awesome pad on it, very large and comfortable. Good when running this gun hot and burning through 20 rounds.
I just moved the two QD sockets to the other side. They are well placed.
It pops on in minutes
Adjustments are very refined.
