I am looking to install a sling adapter for a single point sling. A video says to torque the castle nut to 40 finger pounds. What is that? I never heard of a "finger pound", only foot pounds. What are they talking about regarding the Caslte Nut?

IIRC 40 ft-lbs +/-2 is the correct torque for the castle nut. Don't forget to stake it.
As an aside, are you sure you want a single point sling?

Was the person in the video using a torque wrench or just his fingers on a regular wrench?

Go to the 8.20 minute mark. He says 40 +-2 inch pounds. I got this wrong, confusing inch pounds and finger pounds. So this is one inch out and forty pounds of pressure, right?
