    Armalite barrel

Thinking about pulling my 16" Armalite barrel and replacing it with their 18" stainless one on my AR10, anyone know how their 18" stainless shoot?
    Thanks,

It’s been quite a few years since I’ve played with Arma light, however I did swap a standard barrel to an Armalight target model. Group decreased by about half, it wasn’t a super accurate shooter. It did shoot 1.25-1.5” groupings. If I remember correctly I was shooting 168gr FGMM.

** Don’t think it matters, but this was with the older B model that used modified M14 mags

If I can cut groups by 50% overall ( the good stuff shoots 1.5" and the 150 gr FMJ shoots 3 to 4" at 100yds) I'd be happy! With the stock barrel after 3 shots groups open quick and if I could cut the blast a pinch I'd be a happy man. Overall this Armalite AR10 has been flawless and with D&H 20 round mags it has been problem free.

I have an AR103GN18 with their stainless barrel and it shoots 3/4 MOA with a couple different loads. I'm definitely happy with it.

How's the profile on the 18" stainless?

About 3/4" OD under the handguards, and slightly less forward of the gasblock. I'd call it "medium", but I have no idea what they actually call it. It's a good mix between light enough to carry around, but thick enough to hold zero well.

Kinda what I'm looking for, 16" factory shoots good for 3 shots then groups open fast! What gas block you using?

It's an adjustable gas block that came stock on the rifle. I'd say "Armalite", but I don't see it sold separately om their website. I'd be surprised if it wasn't outsourced and rebranded for them.

Thinking maybe the first of the year I'll start tearing down my Armalite and building it the way I want. Not looking to make super tac cool just looking to make it a pinch better in the barrel and stock dept.

I don't know about the 18" but the 20" Armalite stainless I shoot is good for 1/2 MOA 5 shot groups with the 175gr MK.
