Yeah, it's light, sturdy, simple, inexpensive, and has QD sling mounts. I love it. Same rail I have on my SBR, so I just copied the recipe so they would match. I also just duplicated it on a 10.5 PSA pistol upper I picked up on the cheap.
I was thinking about doing all my ARs like this, but I'm gonna leave my RECCE alone. It has a Troy Alpha on it. I really like the feel of it because I don't use a VFG on that one. I actually like the feel of the Alpha rail much better, but you have to add rails to it to mount stuff on there. That bulks it up. If there were direct mounts for a light, and grip like the M-lok, I'd have all Alpha. Too bad Troy didn't develop it like that. I had to get a Noveske QD sling mount for it.
Damn ARs are so nice how you can build them to suit your exact taste....

You know what I like best about most people?
Their dogs.
KAK 12.5in barrel, KAK Double ejector BCG, CMC Lantac trigger, Odin Works adjustable gas block, Radical Firearms NADA brake and Primary Arms 1-8 w/ ACSS gets the job done!
Light recoil but it does weigh in at 10.lbs

Why all those VFG?
Can't speak for everybody, but I have more control of the weapon with one, and it's a lot more comfortable on my wrist. Especially that second part.
I grab up high with three fingers around the grip, my index finger along the bottom of the rail, and thumb along the top of the rail, or over the top if I'm using the light. Those three fingers pulling the weapon into my shoulder make for a very stable platform. The grip is held between them, and the palm so I can tilt the weapon either way with the slightest twist of my wrist. Different things work for different people...
