To clear lasers/lights?
Edit to add: and possibly gas masks, and passive night vision shooting if you have those needs.
I personally am switching to higher mounts to match my red dot heights. The 1.70" height matches a lower 1/3rd cowitness red dot height.
For strict prone shooting, I'll use an adjustable comb stock for any needed cheek support.

"When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." Thomas Jefferson.
I don’t want to go 1.9, I’m just curious how they’re able to see their reticle at all prone. 1.5 is already borderline garb for me. Additionally it kills my neck. I guess I would have to experience the riser stock, but it sounds very uncomfortable. I can see the use if you’re running an optic for a red dot. But I personally, don’t.
oh I got you and thanks for clarifying. thought there was something else out there I need to get my hands on...lol Not sure I agree o SA being a collectible as the drivers of the large frame AR are much different than other gun mkts. There are no special markings on the rifle designating it as such, certainly not like the Dutch uppers anyway and anyone can cerokote a rifle these days. I'd shoot the snot out of it and enjoy, mine is a laser!
slow down big guy, I've been respectful and pretty even, was not being aggressive here merely gave an opinion that bears merit after asking a question. There really is nothing special other than anodizing otherwise they are same rifle you can get in black. You want me to be honest, the fact that you had to justify the price in your ad screams when reading it you know the price is way too high. GLWS, as I've not seen one go for that high anywhere, not even gunbroker which is notoriously high.
