If the Waco wackos HAD someone on the outside... who would it have been, that could take on 1st Cav?
...it was a Leftist administration then, it's a Leftist administration now... and the Constitution DOES allow use of military force to suppress revolt and insurrection... which narrative has been nicely set up by the events of the last few months.
"I am a Soldier. I fight where I'm told and I win where I fight." GEN George S. Patton, Jr.
They were wackos which is probably why no one came to help them.
This is a much different scenario. Millions of gun owners, militias and smaller groups protecting each other. Strictly defence.
Would the military support going after firearms/ammo manufacturers, businesses and citizens if the ATF fails? Beto was talking about door to door confiscation.
...we’re all wacos now. That’s the whole point of the exercise. They were wackos which is probably why no one came to help them
Trumpers. Gun nuts. Constitutionalists. Fascists.
They are eliminating police, eliminating the ability of individuals to defend themselves... and they are removing those elements from the military, turning it into a politically driven organization.

Five or ten years from now, it won’t be the police kicking in your door...

The other problem is these things stand out like a sore thumb and basically scream "Yo! Goodies Here for anyone who can come take 'em!" I like the idea of hardening, but it's better if it can be done discreet without being visible--Gray Man applies as much to your home as your person.

I actually do own/live in an underground house which is poured concrete. The roof is 8 inches of concrete with about 2 feet of dirt on top of that. The South side has lots of glass windows (necessary unless you want to live in a tomb). The center wall in the house is also solid concrete, as a support for the roof. It is situated in the middle of 40 acres of woods in the Ozarks so I dont worry too much about intruders. One big advantage is it takes very little to heat or cool the house. I have a single free standing AC unit that I run maybe a month a year and I heat in the winter with a small wood stove (I have back up electric if I get tired of burning the stove).
Those window boxes could be used as hard cover for anyone trying to breach your house. They would allow someone to get close enough to gain window entry while being covered by their buddies also from hard cover.
They'll get you long before they need or use door to door confiscation.
And nobody is coming to help you when that force surrounds you, either. Except your compound probably doesn't need surrounded by that force you'll be in custody or dead before the someone who isn't going to help even knows something is happening.
