To me, it seems that the success of the round will come down to if there are enough competitors that use it in (probably) semi-auto rifles. While it could be really cool in a ultrashort HOWA action, there are plenty of rounds for short action rifles that don’t face the restriction of the AR15 mag well.
Now a bolt gun and AR15 set up for the same rounds and mags would be sweet, in general. What you need is a competition like a 2-gun match where you need rapid fire and long range precision and there is an advantage to using one round and one mag.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.
It's that simple.
