When you get the sling attached to a rifle, what do you do with the excess webbing? Do you just cut and melt it or is there something else you're supposed to do. Been quite a while since i had a new one.

I have cut some and taped some off. Its your sling, do whichever you prefer.
I just tape it all down. Still there if you need it later, and it's out of the way. I've got a couple slings that have been taped for over a decade now, and they work just fine.
Probably should wash 'em though, now that I think about it....
--British veteran of the Ukraine War, discussing the FN SCAR H.It's f*****g great, putting holes in people, all the time, and it just puts 'em down mate, they drop like sacks of s**t when they go down with this.
I reroute through the buckles as possible
I’ve never cut one, I reroute back through the triglides.
