This is interesting. Kind of makes you wonder, don't it?
Doubled.
So, if you've been following the war in Ukraine, it's been a wild ride the last couple days with a Russian report of the deployment of French Foreign Legion troops to Ukraine being picked up and reported as fact, only to have it today declared "Russian Disinformation."
Couple articles on the subject:
https://asiatimes.com/2024/05/france...e-battlefront/
https://apnews.com/article/fact-chec...d-994039088319
I first heard about this yesterday when one YouTube channel I follow, S2 Underground, reported it as fact that the French were deploying the Foreign Legion to Ukraine, and gave exact numbers of the planned deployment, and what roles they were to play initially. They even had a full analysis of what the deployment of the Foreign Legion would mean for both France, and NATO in general, and the potential threat of escalation. Today, however, that same channel reported that it was likely Russian disinformation, but "we'll never know the truth." No admission they fell for it, no apology. Sucks too, because the channel frequently has good info on domestic affairs, but has some of the worst Foreign Policy takes possible, on both Ukraine and Israel, and always frames in whatever way makes the current Administration look the worst. I miss the days when folks had more nuance than "Uncle Joe likes X, so X must be bad!"

Germany proposes to close airspace over part of Ukraine
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world...bcbf1216&ei=11
According to the newspaper, the idea of using NATO air defense systems deployed in Romania and Poland and operated by NATO forces to shoot down Russian drones over Western Ukraine was proposed by Nico Lange, an expert at the Munich Security Council (MSC) and former NATO Deputy Secretary General, and was suggested by Lieutenant General Horst Heinrich Braus.
According to Lange, this would create a 70-kilometer safe zone on the Ukrainian border. This could relieve Ukrainian air defense forces in other parts of the front.

A Ukrainian Sport Plane Drone Just Flew 800 Miles Into Russia To Blow Up An Oil Refinery

It is, by far, Ukraine’s longest-range raid—and an escalation of Ukraine’s deep-strike campaign targeting Russian refineries, factories and strategic military sites.
And it’s at least the fourth attempted deep strike involving Ukraine’s sport-plane drones. Videos shot by people on the ground in Salavat clearly depict the wide straight wings, fixed wheels and propeller that are typical of an inexpensive sport plane, the kind a middle-class pilot can build at home from a kit costing as little as $90,000.
The Ukrainian intelligence directorate, working in conjunction with the country’s special operations command, has turned two locally-made plane types into drones: the Aeroprakt A-22 and Aerosor Nynja.
It seems both types have inexpensive video cameras, simple onboard computers, servos connected to the flight controls, plus satellite radios to transmit video to a distant operator and control signals back to the plane.
The A-22 apparently carries its explosive payload inside its cabin. The Nynja carries a 220-pound bomb under its belly. Both planes cruise at around 100 miles per hour and blend in with civilian air traffic, making them difficult to intercept.

So Scranton Army Ammunition Plant is now producing 36,000 155 projo's, and now the former Kansas Army Ammunition Plant will be producing 12,000 a month starting this summer along with two other plants pretty soon we might have enough 155 ammo.

155mm production update:
The former Kansas Army Ammunition Plant, now a Contractor Owned, Contractor Operated (Day & Zimmerman) facility, will commence 155mm Load, Assembly & Packing (LAP) of 12,000 rounds per month this summer.
The Army's main 155mm LAP site is currently Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, a Government Owned, Contractor Operated facility (also operated by DayZimm, via their American Ordnance subsidiary).
General Dynamics Ordnance & Tactical Systems is also bringing a new 155mm LAP capacity online at their existing facility in Camden, AR.
Commencing & ramping up production at these 3 facilities is key to increasing US 155mm ammunition production.
This was confirmed by Army Acquisition Chief Doug Bush in response to a question from Senator

"He is free to evade reality, he is free to unfocus his mind and stumble blindly down any road he pleases, but not free to avoid the abyss he refuses to see."
That is fantastic news. We are lucky we learned we were extremely underarmed without getting a lot of Americans killed first.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

As Russia Advances, NATO Considers Sending Trainers Into Ukraine
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/05/16/u...o-ukraine.html
So far the United States has said no, but Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr., the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Thursday that a NATO deployment of trainers appeared inevitable. “We’ll get there eventually, over time,” he said.
