It was the threated nut inside the folder which connects into the threads on the back of the receiver intended for the receiver extension. The set screw which is intended to prevent this from happening was still torqued in place. It was not loose, which confused me a bit.

Thanks, I'm going to recheck the torque with that little wrench.

I wish Law had something like the spanner included with the RAB-AD that allows you to torque with a proper wrench to a stated value. The bending of the tool seems somewhat kludgy and imprecise.
