Trump is gonna speak at the libertarian shin dig & a bunch maga showed up to support...maga took up the front seats & would not surrender their spots to the lib members. It started getting a little heated & I guess this just happened.

Small but tough crowd at the libertarian convention. I think the only reason Trump was invited was to bring libertarians some media attention that they would not otherwise get.

Trump stayed on point though I sensed he was becoming annoyed when he reminded those jeering that they can vote for him if they want to win and be represented on some of their positions, or continue to remain at 3%.

I didn't know that libertarians practice tokenism. About the only woman in the room was Chair of the libertarian convention.

In any event, kudos to Trump for taking the time to speak to libertarians.

Trump, Who Wants To Execute Drug Dealers, Promises To Free Ross Ulbricht

    https://reason.com/2024/05/26/trump-...ross-ulbricht/

"We're going to be asking everyone who sells drugs, gets caught selling drugs," former President Donald Trump said in November 2022 as he launched his 2024 presidential campaign, "to receive the death penalty for their heinous acts."

That promise was not an offhand remark; it has been core to Trump's platform. Which made one of his comments yesterday at the Libertarian National Convention all the more interesting. "I will commute the sentence of Ross Ulbricht," he said, referring to the man serving two life sentences plus 40 years for a slew of convictions, including distributing narcotics. Ulbricht's legal troubles stem an online marketplace he founded and operated called the Silk Road, where users could buy and sell illegal substances.

Worst case of TDS ever. So cringe worthy. Imagine the desperation for attention seeking required to think you, as a (no longer relevant) actor should go speak there? My prediction on the case is a hung jury.

Predictions? In a world where the justice system is sane... the prosecutor would have never charged, but he did. The judge would have tossed the case, but he didn't. All 12 on the jury would determine not guilty... but... I think it's more likely than not that the media will have their wet dream of saying "convicted felon" a zillion times a day every day till the election. I believe any guilty verdict will be overturned on appeal but that won't happen till after the election.

In a WORKING justice system, Defense would have so thoroughly shredded Cohen & Clifford on cross that there wouldn't be enough left of BOTH of 'em combined to feed a shrimp. I think I previously posted exactly how swiftly and easily their testimony could be eviscerated...

And therein lies the rub......a jury chosen from that district (state or Federal) is gonna be just a weeee bit biased.

I am a firm believer in the jury system we have, but it is FAR from perfect. Bad-actor DA's/prosecutors will cherry-pick a jury of like-minded individuals to get a conviction (or a not-guilty verdict).

The repeated jury-fishing that shitstain DA in Austin did against Daniel Perry is criminal. The POS libtard jurors he was hoping for and got selected convicted him when he should have walked free.

Granted it was a LONG time ago (and I think you'd have a hard time repeating that today), but the Mississippi state jury selected in the case of the murders of the four civil rights workers in 1964 found them not-guilty. Conversely if you were to shoot a black criminal trying to carjack/rob/assault you down in the 'hood, a jury from that AO might not like you very much, the evidence be damned.

My point is that the jury system is magnitudes better than the King/President/Supreme Leader deciding your fate shit that goes down elsewhere in the world, but it certainly can have less-than-perfect results. Americans, like everyone else on this rock, have prejudices they carry with them; those can be political, cultural, racial, etc. Most would be lying if they said none of those would affect the way they would decide guilt or not. Not all of course, some folks have clarity and a sense of right and wrong.

If Trump has a gag order, how can Biden and DeNiro have a campaign rally on the Courthouse steps?
It's going to be a hung Jury.
