Thanks for the link.
any source for training material? ie: care and usage of gas masks for untrained civilians. Just like a gun, I don't think mere possession of a gas mask is a magic talisman.
[edit] Whoops, I found a link on that website you posted:

I haven't looked yet to see what all they have, but it is undoubtedly a start.

RAM,
Seems to be about the best prices I could find on the MSA/Scott/3M masks around.
I don't know much about the other brands but I myself am looking into a couple MSA Millennium CBRN masks.
...and yes, they have training materials on that site. If you order something be sure to post your experience and maybe some pics of your products.

I forgot to comment on this when you posted it orginally, but I do like the MSA Mill mask. Most of the guys like them, not too many compliants. However, when MSA changed canisters to achieve NIOSH CBRNE rating, we were kinda surprised with the size of it. It's bigger than 3Ms and others. Actually, I think it is the biggest out there. Some of the guys changed the location of canister mount location because of it. As long as it does what is say it does, I'm happy. I use the same canister for my MSA Ultra Elite mask.

I don't know if there still doing it but cheaper than dirt was selling gas masks extremely cheep
Czech OM10 used mask and bag, new filter $9.97
Finish all new unissued $9.97
Israel I think all new $19.97
What is the Cadillac of Gas Masks, MSA Millenium, Advantage 1000, etc.?
Thanks.

MSA makes both of those. The 1000 is newer but more for industry rather than what I think you want it for. Actually, I don't even think it is CBRN certified. The big makers are MSA, 3M, and Scott. There are others of course. If you get a chance, I would put them on to see what you like. You should be "fit tested" to make sure you don't lose your seal when doing things. The Mill is a good mask but has a big CBRN canister.
Just as a note, mask like these require the user to work to breathe. You must pull the air through the filters. Some people will not be able to use them due to health problems. In that case, you would want to use a powered air purifiying respirator.
Tin-The new fashion statement.
Any thoughts on the Scott Promask?

I was always a fan of their goggles back years ago.
I like the sound of this...
Test fitting prior to buying isnt much of an option for me.The configuration of the airflow channels ensures low breathing resistance.
Or how about the SGE400 on sale?...
