Try swapping the BCG with a known good one.
An overly strong extractor or ejector spring may be producing an abnormal ejection pattern.

has the rifle been reliable and ejection pattern is your only concern? Are you running a can with it?
I don't think extractor spring will help since BCM one is very very good, and probably better than Colt. Unless you have more than 5k-10k rounds I wouldn't consider replacing it.
Yes, of course. But a bad extractor spring will muddy any other troubleshooting results, something I learned from hard experience. Starting with good extraction will save a lot of frustration.
Search the old troubleshooting threads and you'll see several folks had problems with BCM extractor springs. Turns out BCM had a bad batch. The Colt extractor spring was developed specifically to address extraction related malfunctions that were showing up in hard use M4s. If the BCM extractor spring is better than the Colt spring, I haven't seen it.

There's no where near enough info supplied to begin replacing any parts.
AMMO is the first thing I'd be interested in. Aside from that, ejection direction is way less important than the actual bolt speed/recoil impluse/thump. If you can compare the feel of the gun against another rifle for a control, you can get an idea if the bolt speed is excessive by running some double taps.
