    LMT Enhanced BCG question

Will it work with a 16" mid-length gas system? BCM ELW to be specific if it matters. I know it was designed for a 14.5" (optimally) and the ones I have work great on those barrels. Just wondering if it will work with the ever-so-slightly different dwell times using the mid-length system with a 16" tube.

Yep, like a charm. With a heavy buffer it doesn't beat up your brass if you're a handloader.

It also works perfectly with the BRT intermediate gas system with an A5H4.

shouldn't it work with everything except , potentially, a small port sbr?

I have run it in a 20" rifle and 16" Middy with no issues to satisfy my curiosity.

I'm running an LMT Enhanced Carrier with a standard bolt on suppressed 11.5" shorty with an adjustable gas block. It runs good

If it is accurate that a small port sbr is the only concern, I'd would be interesting to see you turn yours down until you don't get lock back, then swap in a standard bcg and see what happens.

I have a small port 10.8, it was getting some failure to lock which was corrected with a sionics np3 standard bcg

There was an old post on this site discussing the potential problems with that configuration, it was great and had technical details, other than that, I only recall people reporting positive results across the entire spectrum.

Although Gene at lmt told me it wasn't recommended for standard carbine configurations, but iirc the LMT site no longer recommends restricted usage to longer gas or buffer,..... can't recall if it was just buffer or the gas length also

I use them exclusively in 10.5, 12.5 (carbine),14.5 (mid and carbine), and 16 (mid). I've never had a problem with any of them.

I did this with an 11.5 midlength, suppressed.

    Normal Carrier:
Using 223 Wolf Gold it will bolt hold open at the 6th click from fully closed.

    Setting 4 – No extraction
Setting 5 – Extraction no BHO
    Setting 6 – Extraction, BHO

    LMT Gen 5 FA Carrier:

Still using the A5H2, Wolf Gold 223 55gr.

Setting 4 – Extraction no BHO
    Setting 5 – Extraction, BHO
