I would say that considering confiscation was on the table, as well as limiting number of rounds in mag.

We did ok. Not great but ok.

I don't support what made it though, but it could have been worse.

But if it was worse then maybe because it would stir people to action, it would have been better long term.

Either way, they got some of their anti-gun agenda through and into law. And there are other anti-gun legislation bills that still have to be voted on. Not a time to get complacent on these issue.

"Other gun control bills have, however, made it through the Virginia House and Senate. These include measures that would ban guns in certain areas and buildings, require universal background checks, limit how frequently people can buy handguns and allow law enforcement to temporarily take guns away from someone they deem dangerous."

The Fox News article is factually incorrect. No bills have been passed into law. They are in the committee of the opposing house.

This has always been the left’s strategy, ask for the moon, shifting the “Overton window” to the left, get incremental gun control pushed through at a minimum. They would have loved their AWB, but they will settle for what made it through, all while gun owners everywhere celebrate their “victory.”

Completely agree. Hopefully they have stirred up the hornet's nest enough and the vote next year can be like 1996. It would be a good message to bring it back to an issue the democrats don't want to touch.

We need better than 1996. Shit needs to be repealed, not left in place.

The formula is simple, replace the dems with Republicans and put the Republicans on the record pre election that they will repeal these stupid laws.

Formula is simple in principle, hard in practice.

True and there are a lot of people flying the R banner that talk a bit like little l libertarians, but operate as fascist/socialist/communist statists.

And that's been a big part of the right's problem: We won't settle for anything less than the moon right here and right now. Any incremental change is considered "compromise" and that's a no-no.

I rarely hear of any incremental changes for repeals of bad legislation other than during campaign season. Once the majority is achieved they ain't got no time for that with having to wait for the 94 Clinton ban to sunset as just 1 good example.
