Surefire got back to me 1/12 saying it would cost $326 to repair. They asked me to approve this which I did and said if I approve they’ll call me to get a credit card number. I also asked if the muzzle adapter would be repaired. I have not heard a response or received a callback. I called customer service last week, and the rep emailing me was away and they said “we are busy with shot show.” Still haven’t heard anything. Is it usually this slow?

I would take it with a grain of salt around SHOT time, everyone seems to slow down around it.

My silencer and upper complete with a brand new SOCOM muzzle adapter is on its way back to me. $326 covered my silencer repair and the replacement of the muzzle device. I guess not too bad all things considered. The tech told me the silencer would be “like new.” Cant wait to get it back and to shoot.

What is your plan for ensuring proper installation of MD and alignment?

Surefire is ensuring me that they used the alignment rod to test for proper alignment. To be quite honest I’m just going to take it out and shoot it. I’d imagine if this time there was any baffling strikes it would be on them considering they reinstalled the new MD and test fired my upper.

I'm dumb. I read that as "silencer and muzzle device".

Picked up the silencer. Looks good as new. Maybe it’s me but I feel like I can see new weld spots. I can tell they shot through it. I’m taking it to the range Friday. I guess shooting first without the silencer to make sure it doesn’t blast through the side of the MB is the smart thing to do right?

I am not following what you are asking in your question.

I’m asking if I should test fire without attaching the silencer since rounds were hitting off the sides of the muzzle adapter on top of causing baffle strikes when I shot with the silencer originally. If by chance Surefire didn’t install it correctly I’d rather the muzzle adapter be damaged and not the silencer (again) as well.

I now understand. Might as well, it is a QD mount, so shoot with no can, then add can. Quick and easy check for piece of mind.
