It is because of the Glock's popularity and that people are heavily invested in it with mags. It just makes business sense as far as numbers go. Been around a long time with most FAL barrels being threaded 5/8"-24 LH or RH depending on where/when/who was adopting them.
Not as stellar, I think the original AC 556 and GB models were 5/8"-24 RH.

Did Marlin get their QC issues lined out? Haven't looked into them in awhile. I'm jonesing for a .38/.357 levergun myself and that Henry is looking pretty good to me, but Marlin has rail equipped models too.

That Alien pistol also looks promising. Gas delayed blowback, fixed barrel, sights don't move on the slide cycle due to it moving only on the sides, top of grip higher than barrel. Hope it proves reliable.
