My bad, I'm an idiot. I forgot that it was Fred Thompson in the role. I was thinking that "Fred" was another forum member that had previously posted the quote.

The quote stirred a memory of an article on this subject from the late Mike Vanderboegh---Gun Control, Civil War etc...

Great read. I have no doubt there will be a good sized segment of the population who will "kill-all-they-send" in a defensive action, there will be others who take the fight to the government in hit & run attacks, but an even larger segment of the gun owning population will lay low and evade and avoid, hiding what they have. They won't be heroes but just try to ride it out. Some in that group will join the "kill-all-they-send" group if they feel cornered.

Here in the rural American West, we have plenty of places to hide our newly created contraband weaponry, so good luck in finding it. Also, in some of these places, you had better send a well-armed team of gun confiscators otherwise you'll just disappear, becoming part of the food chain for some critter. That is the mentality in these rural areas.

Agree. I really liked the movie references in that article, it brings it home of a lot of people. The real issue we have in my opinion is how do we maintain our culture if it comes to a shooting war? (Winning of course solves the issue....Lol....)..... Love them, hate them, you have to admire the Irish in this regard- Occupied for 400 years and they have kept their culture, their religion, their language, their identity and the spirit of resistance.

Happens to all of us every now and then, amigo, just that today it was your turn to roll snake-eyes. It could just as easily be any one of us tomorrow, and it's been me more times than I'd like to admit.

Fortunate indeed. Regardless of his unconstitutional intentions, someone this naïve should never be president.

One of my all time fav movie quotes. It succinctly captures the peril of high stakes gambits.

That's why I really liked the article I linked a few posts ago....I don't think the Other Side really understands The Stakes. When Puto says, "Everyone will just hand them in or the Police will visit them"...to me that shows a fundamental lack of understanding- He doesn't understand he's talking about starting the Second Civil War.....If he does, then he's not only stupid, but evil...I can do either way on that....

So instead of posting our latest builds we can just discuss our latest burial cache. Instead of what distance do you zero, what depth do you bury your stock pile. Damn, what a slippery slope.
Or we could just rehash who makes the best BCG since there has never been a decisive winner.

When that day comes, you can bet some company will be hyping their weapon burial cases as made by people who don't sleep at night because they are worried they didn't put enough QC into said cases.

I won't buy a burial tube unless its marketed as "Mil spec" and features extended feed lips for smoother insertion of the weapon. The lid also has to offer a feature for staking the locking nut so it won't come loose. Additional features could include olive drab or desert sand colors, multi-cam, an NSN number stenciled on it, and wording that the tube is used by Tier 1 Operators world wide.

O.F. Mossberg & Company already jumped in some years back with their Just In Case, a waterproof tube with a Cruiser 500 inside. That tube lacked the needed features mentioned above.
