Agreed the SBA3 and Spiltfix are like peanut butter and jelly. Totally meant to go together. Well worth the extra $.

You can do this with a piece of Velcro for 50 cents.

I thought there was also some “fine print” implying that you can’t modify and brace especially in a way that shows intent to use it as a stock, no?

All up to ATF's perspective which changes like the wind. If Uncle Sugar wants to burn you bad enough they will pull out all the stops. Case in point see the below link.

    From the second link-
“Keep in mind that this applies as long as the brace is not modified. If you change the brace in any way, trying to make it stronger or removing the Velcro strap then yes, you have modified the original design and now you have an illegal short barreled rifle. So the SB Tactical Pistol Stabilizing Brace is legal to buy and install on the AR or other pistol designs, regardless of how it's used and as long as it hasn't been modified.”

I plan on making a pistol lower to use until my other lower is sbr’d. I plan on using this brace and will definitely leave it in the exact way it was shipped. The ATF is too fickle to chance anything.

You can also use the strap that comes with it, but it, like the velcro modification may not work for some users.

Yep alot would depend on the ATF and AUSA.. Regardless any person needs to ensure it still functions as a brace or risk rolling the dice.

How many of you guys that are rocking the SBA3 wait until you’re shooting on private property and then just swap it over to a carbine stock? LoL. j/k, don’t answer that!

Not even funny but I’ll hazard a guess: zero.
