Not have you given me an explanation as to why the United States is an empire.
A student of history knows the talk of “American Imperialism” began when academics decided their language could be used as a tool to sway policy and demonize those which they disagree.
You seem to be caught in their trap. That is much like the academics’ use of the term “racism”.

You seem to gloss right over the part of the definition where it talks about one Supreme Authority. That is the USA. When you advance the Monroe Doctrine, when you REPEATEDLY invade nations to overthrow duly elected leaders and install others....That defacto makes you Supreme over them.

Clearly, you’ve subscribed to those academics attempt to influence policy. There are dozens and dozens of books and papers published on the topic. But one thing is clear, to the layman empire=bad and imperialism=bad. Those trying to bend reality to fit the US into such a box are not doing so for altruistic reasons.
