If aesthetics are a big deal, buy what tickled your fancy.

Kimber, in general has a very poor reputation among firearms trainers and 1911 gunsmiths for reliability, durability, and general quality. Almost all agree about them being aesthetically pleasing. Personally, I chose Colt and a custom. The Colt still needed work, IMO.

Aesthetics are personal and subjective, quality is not. You are in Dan Wesson price territory but the value is not there with the Kimber https://danwessonfirearms.com/view-all-products/

This is only one step away from “convince me what I just bought is a good choice.”
AQ planned for years and sent their A team to carry out the attacks, and on Flight 93 they were thwarted by a pick-up team made up of United Frequent Fliers. Many people look at 9/11 and wonder how we can stop an enemy like that. I look at FL93 and wonder, "How can we lose?". -- FromMyColdDeadHand
Who buys a Kimber?? I mean.. they are great looking, Really Bad pistols. They need to be on my American Mediocrity list now that you bring them up.
