I see these in various Afghanistan or Syria photos, and they seem confined to Spec Ops personnel. But I have always wondered - as these don’t look like typical issue combat boots - what type and make of footwear, is this?

”New levels of dissimulation being reached for - and gained – in the faux journalism/gov spokesmen/shadowy ‘intelligence’ nexus which blends together the worst elements of controlled medias, puppet governments, & mafia-led ‘security’ forces, as our ‘post-reality’ era jets further and further away from any remotely real ‘events,’ authentic ‘leaders,’ & factual reporting.”

Could be the brands rfairman gave but hard to tell from the pictures. Another option is Merrell Moab's.

LH picture turned out to be Asolo, as stated above. The logo jumps out in the high res pic I have - but was not able to post in this thread.
I definitely need to come up with a better solution for photos than I have, here.
Thanks for the helpful information, Gentlemen - I do appreciate it.

Could be
Lowa
Asolo
Merrell
Literally any hiking boot can/could be worn in theater, SOF or not, depending on how gay a unit’s ledership want to be about it.
The current hotness is Lowa and Salomon.
It’s tough to pick a particular boot because with just about every manufacturer (Merrill’s, Asolo, Lowa, et al) I read very similar reviews, such as (paraphrasing):
“Excellent boot ... tread separated after 6 months.”
“Very comfortable ... toe cap split and came off pretty quick.”
“Used to be great but manufacturing left [Italy/US] and moved to [insert name of former eastern bloc Euro country, here] ... quality now not liked 5-10 years ago” etc.

I’m still using my old Belleville 300 DES ST because I have flat feet and haven’t been able to find something/anything else that will hold up/last.
But I would sure like to.

Unfortunately, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. What works for a some doesn’t necessarily work for others. A friend of mine just straight up can’t wear Salomons.
Invest in insoles and Shoe Goo.
Good advice, and great wisdom.
Thanks for the replies, Gentlemen. Your time and insights are gratefully appreciated.
