LPVO and TALL Scope Mount Options

Didn't know you were the official spokesperson for tall optic mounts. How about you fire up that GPC to buy one for everyone in your unit. Don't infer that your opinion trumps all and stop arguing about subjective topics.

I've ran 1.93" mounts for both LPVO (Vortex Razor 1-6), several KAC and Geissele Aimpoint micro mounts. It's back to the traditional 1.5" for the scope and lower 1/3 on non-magnified for me.

I literally stated that was my opinion AND acknowledged that it’s personal preference on how each person wants to spend his/her own money. Not sure why that hurt your feelings so much.

Only thing I'd like to add is that if you want/need a higher optic and are also going to run a CNVD, be sure to get a 2.04" height mount for your day optic and a 1/2" pic riser to mount the -24 on to insure proper alignment.

I’m a big fan. I used a P4Xi in a standard ADM for about a year after several years on an EXPS 3. I always felt like I had to scrunch my neck a good amount to be able to find the eye box. Switching to a G 1.93” mount was a noticeable difference for the better and while I do think that it varies from person to person, IMO if you’re not shooting something SPRish that is meant to be mostly shot from the prone, it’s definitely something that deserves consideration. We’ve evolved from the days where guns with magnification were only shot off bipods after dialing, it seems logical that the optic mount would be part of that evolution, pro mask/laser or not. That being said, I’ve spent a lot of my recent range trips shooting groups from a bipod and rear bag. Yes, it does make that more difficult. Every now and then, it does cause a bit of strain. However, I’ll take the occasional prone neck strain over the frequent standing neck strain all day. Plus, it’s not too hard to figure out as long as you don’t mind a mouth breather cheek weld.

Thanks for the input, guys. Anybody got any input on specific mounts? I’m looking for a QD similar to Larue or ADM in a 1.7”-1.9” height, 30mm, extended like the Larue SPR-E or G hyper-extended. The reason I’ve been looking at the ADM is that their 1.9” looks like I can get a little longer eye relief than the Larue 1.9”. But I’m open to ideas. I’ll probably pull the trigger today.

I find it much easier to shoot lefty with my optics forward and slightly higher.

I don’t remember if I said it or not but I used the standard height ADM for about a year. It was fine and I never had any issues with it so I assume their taller version would be solid, but I do like the G mount better. I don’t have any specific quantifiable reason for that though. I do wish there were more options for QD 1.93s. I know MrGunsngear is a big fan of ADM mounts, not sure if he’s tried their high variant or not. If QD was a requirement, that’s probably who I’d go to, at least until Sacalrworks releases theirs.

Then you gotta go Larue for 34mm.

The anti-QD movement has grown strongly lately.
