Low power scope for a PTR 91

I am interested in a good quality low power (6x and less) scope that I can mount on my PTR 91 GI rifle in 308. I would like to be able to take this gun to rifle classes and be able to make quick hits up close but still be able to have quick and accurate shots out to 300 yards, and slow aimed shots out a bit further. Yes I know that is what an AR is for, but let me have my fun.
Is my best bet to go with a fixed power scope like an acog? Am I better off getting a 1-4x or 1-6 power variable scope like the Accupoint or Accupower? I want something that's tough enough to get banged around a bunch. I listed trijicon scopes, but I'm fine with other decent quality ones. I used to own a SS variable power with illuminated reticle and a throw lever that I wish I never got rid of.
I have a grand to spend but wouldn't be upset if I got off cheaper than that.

I have 4x Hensoldt Fero Z-24's on my standard HK 91's and a Schmidt and Bender 1.5-6x on my HK 91 G3 SG1 clone.

Have a look at Primary Arms ACSS reticle scopes. The glass is surprisingly decent and the reticle is excellent for quick and dirty shooting. If you plan on shooting while moving, at targets inside 100 yards with a fixed magnification scope, I'd highly recommend an offset iron sight or red dot or piggybacking a red dot onto the top of the scope. If you piggyback a reddot, make sure you practice shooting at room distance before going to whatever event. The height above bore, and required hold-over out to 25 yards, is pretty big and takes getting used to.

I have a Primary Arms 2.5x Prism scope on one of my ARs and like it quite a bit. It's an ACOG like concept, they have a reputation for being pretty rugged as well (though I'm assuming not as much so as an ACOG) and they are way cheaper.
In addition to the 2.5x, they make them in 3x and 5x as well. Although personally I'm pretty happy with the 2.5x and with a fixed magnification optic, I don't think I'd want to go above 3x anyway.
Only sticking point might be the height of the optic. I'm thinking it might sit up fairly high but it's probably similar to the height of an ACOG.

And those are no longer $199 or even $399 setups, most Trijicons are probably cheaper now. Glad I jumped all over those when they were coming in. Germany army moving from the G3 to the G36 was one of the greatest supply moments in my adult life. $2 mags NIW was amazing to me, I was paying $20 a mag back in 1983.

Well they are the correct optics for the G3 type rifles. These days though I'd go with something lighter.

I just love that it was premium glass for pennies on the dollar. Wish I had been able to snag 5 more. That said the whole G3/91 system is a heavy rifle, I don't think the Z24 adds any meaningful additional weight. Most of us put more crap on our M4 rails. But the G3/91 was never meant to be a lightweight carbine anyway and I appreciate a little something to dampen .308 recoil anyway.

Is the Other Semi Autos forum an alternate reality where the Steiner 1-4, Vortex HST 1-6, Razor HD 1-6, NF NXS 1-8, and ATACR 1-8 don't exist?

Does the rifle being a G3 clone mean that it can't mount the current industry standards?
