How would that cause a rifle to Keyhole?
How would that cause a rifle to Keyhole?
I don't think it would. That was another issue.
I have not had a chence to really pick at the carbon yet but I think it's in there hammer and chisel tight, not popsicle stick tight.
Phrasing!
"Guns are like neurosurgeons. When you need one, you need one badly."
so, I'm guessing this happens to suppressors as well after a while.
I told my friend I was going to send half of it to Noveske. He said make sure I let them know he's a satisfied customer.
Pistol-caliber suppressors, yes. If you are running a 5.56 or a .308 or bigger, then no. The gases from the muzzle on a rifle are hot enough to burn off the deposits.
I was recently at a suppressor class, where we had as a sample a sectioned 5.56 can. The instructor asked us how many rounds we through had gone through it. i figured he was testing us, and guess high, 10,000 rounds.
Not even close, it had 148,000 logged rounds through it. The interior had a hard, thin layer of carbon, but nothing approaching a caked-on layer.
The pistol-caliber cans, however, looked remarkably like the pig Ned has sectioned. It's all a matter of heat.
