Cause he can smell...
Cause he can smell...
I like G96 clp the best.
The obedient always think of themselves as virtuous rather than the cowards they really are.
I started using Hoppes in the early 90s, and never stopped. The "smell" doesn't bother me at all, but I'm not overly sensitive to smells.
I was wasting time at a local indoor range months ago, and saw some Rand Bore & Bolt Solvent on the shelf, so bought some. The spray bottle should make it more travel friendly than Hoppes, and Viking Tactics seems to like it, so it shouldn't suck. I think I've used it once to clean an AR bolt....not a very difficult task.....and it did well enough.
Gun scrubber.
I use mpro 7 which I assume is water based. If I cant source it, I use gun scrubber. Its fantastic.
Can I ask why you want to avoid water based cleaners?
Anyone know if mpro7 is water-based? I assume it is, but havent researched at all.
Hoppes original solvent sucks for cleaning. Its a poor solvent for copper and carbon, but it does both (i guess thats why people think its good?) and has been used for years... and still is for some reason. I used it once and wont again.

Most CLP are non or low odor and good to go. Or just use motor oil...

Mega, I dont want water bases cause it rusts unless you get every bit out and oil. Was going to try mpro but it is water based.
Never cared for clp either.
