California couldn't Martial law if an angry bunch of citizens took to the streets and began looting and burning L.A.
They couldn't stop the theft, the people murdering or looting or shooting from roof tops.
But they will get it right this time?
They better stay in the Valley and pray no one finds out that their magazines are empty.

When you try to rule by the barrel of a gun, don't be surprised if you get one pointed back at you.
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.

    It's that simple.

It's probably a good thing the POTUS declares Martial Law as opposed to State Governors.

Now, a call out and Federalization of the NG to help I could see in certain places. I don't think we're quite at the Martial Law stage yet.

If ML is declared to keep control and prevent people from moving around (limit exposure) it could get ugly quick. Has anyone tried to get a moderate sum of money from an ATM or bank lately? Most ATMs have a $4-500 limit. Anyone cashed a check for $1000 or more? Just curious.

Yes, just yesterday. Shoring up cash on hand. That being said, no access to the lobby of the bank unless an appointment is made first. Otherwise, its all through the drive thru window.

Within their State boundaries and using State funding for the NG units, yes.

The author of the article is implying this could be a national level thing.

We're not seeing very much in the way of civil unrest as of right now. Most people are doing what's in their own best interests and avoiding public gathering. Right now, food and fuel are still available, and essential services are still in operation. Martial law would be a dumb move at either the state or federal level right now. If that stuff dries up...we'll cross that bridge then.

We'll also likely see problems after all this if the government and big businesses start coming after people for back payments and forcing people to pay money they don't have due to being out of work. Hopefully they'll all be smart this one time and figure out some other options.
