    Awesome, that rifle is what I call "A Good Day"

    And yep, I'm locked & loaded for the CMP 1911 paperwork to come out! I had everything all filled out, but they're doing this one with all new paperwork, almost like a separate business, I guess as a just in case jihadists start to use surplus 1911s for attacks!

    The slotted gas plug and milled trigger guard is more of a unit authenticity thing. It doesn't have to be done right away, but since most war time rifles were made that way, it's recommended that we back date (or restore wartime guns) to that configuration.

    It's another Springfield, the serial number puts the production date somewhere in the beginning of June 1943.
