Just got off the phone with a guy at Geissele. He told me that they designed the 6mm ARC mags to their specs and they are currently manufacturing their own mags (6mm ARC specific mag bodies and followers) *in house* right now. He also said, *at this time* they have have no plans to offer just 6mm ARC complete uppers.

I haven't read through the entire thread but has anyone shot the 106 TAP ammunition against Hornady's other offerings?

Yup. With my 18” Odin barreled gun I consistently group sub moa at 100 and 200 yards with the -M, -X and Black loads. With the TAP, I see 1.5 to 2 moa. With my 12” Monster barreled SBR I see 1.5 to 2 moa with the first three loads and 2 to 2.5 moa with the TAP.
Still, that isn’t too bad when you consider that the FBI’s main 5.56 loads do about the same in pretty much all of the guns I’ve shot them through.
It seems that the TAP are focused on excellent terminal peformance with pin point precision being secondary.
Were I going to use the 6 ARC for defense or duty use, I’d be fine with the TAP, but would prefer to use the -X if I could find some FBI gel tests with it.
For velocity with the TAP I chrono’d averages of 2608 through the 18” and 2341 through the 12”.

Thank you for that info. What types of velocities were you getting with the Black, M, and X? I'm debating the 18 or 20" Geissele. Also looking at the Cobalt SPR Elite with Proof CF barrel.

Out of the 12 inch gun…
Black. 2395
-M. 2395
-X. 2345
Out of the 18” gun…
Black. 2615
-M. 2621
-X. 2647
Oddly, the -X is the fastest out of the 18” but slowest out of the 12”. Maybe a slower powder???
I saw your thread on the other site, that Cobalt is a nice looking gun. It or the Geissele should serve you well.

Helluva time to introduce a new caliber!
