I concur.
It’s like you read five full Tolkien books,
Then the last two books were cliff notes books.
I was just checking because a lot of people seem mad because the story did not end the way they wanted it to, certain characters did not turn out how they wanted, etc.
I find it very flat because of the cliff notes nature of it.
Like, a minute of Arya dodging into a tunnel to avoid a crash, she sees Jaime and Cerci, she has time to run over and stab them, then die under the falling ruble with them, or get away. We get to see the choice and their death is witnessed.
I would have liked another minute of Jaime explaining he faced down Ned for a 1v1, either to kill him or dye trying, and being disgusted with how it turned out to John or another stark in detail. And a filling out of his departure thatbleft some of his character arc intact.

Older video, but still hilarious.

So who's ready for stranger things season 3?
Still not as bad as how HBO ended the Soprano's, but I still knew it would be mostly rushed, sloppy shit.
So "Bran Who Did Nothing", during the battle for human survival becomes king. For all of his wizardly ways he didn't offer insights on the motivation of the Night King, effective strategies against the white walkers or anything else. Another useless king.
John never did much so going north with the "free people" was probably as fitting as anything. At least he remembered to bring his dog.
Arya who has lived her life to change things is now going to become Dora the explorer. Sounds like kind of a waste.
Really the only thing I want to know is where did Drogon take Dany? It was cliched but somewhat fitting that her dragon destroyed the Iron Throne. It was the reason for her death and Drogon (if we assume Dragons really are sentient and wise) felt that no one else should ever sit on it. But at the same time I don't think it was really necessary to kill Daenerys.
Better writing would have been if Drogon had simply destroyed the Unsullied and Dothraki and left her alone without a force to conquer the world. It would have been more fitting and Drogon could have gone to the mystical land of the last dragon wherever that is proving dragons truly are wise. Then the council could have decided on the future of the kingdoms like they did.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.
Chuck, we miss ya man.

Yeah, I mean if Drogon has the intelligence to realize that the Iron Throne has a corrupting, destructive influence on all who pursue it, and thus decides to destroy it...to "break the wheel" that his "mother" never could.. you'd think he'd have also balked at Mommy D's directive to burn civilians in the street.
Other than perhaps demonstrating some capacity to instantly distinguish Dany's allies and enemies from one another, melting the throne is the only instance I recall in the show of any of the dragons exhibiting intelligence above that of say, a smart dog or something. But now Drogon "forgives" Jon for killing Dany because he understood it "had to be done", and then melts the throne?
I agree with the 'break the wheel' idea on destroying the throne, which is being replaced with a wheel-chair. I guess it is a good thing that they have to remake Kings Landing because it now needs to be ADA compliant.
I think the Dragon knows that Jon is the next rightful error and his IFF doesn't let him go 'hot'...
The Second Amendment ACKNOWLEDGES our right to own and bear arms that are in common use that can be used for lawful purposes. The arms can be restricted ONLY if subject to historical analogue from the founding era or is dangerous (unsafe) AND unusual.
It's that simple.
