I believe it’s more of a slow decline/boiling frog situation. There will be no civil war.

I would agree with both statements. An open "civil war"? Nah, but it will be a dirty, often bloody low-level intensity affair, with unseemly and immoral/unethical shit happening. Definitely a tit-for-tat thing with little regard for "collateral" damage. The hatred is growing, that much should be apparent. What isn't readily apparent is that the usually quieter side is beginning to seethe just like the loud-mouths.
