Sadly you are correct. As far as the people in position to decide for us, they should not be able to lie blatantly or by omission to the citizens of our country. They should be saying, “while tragic this is not the fault of a weapon that’s been available to the general public since 1964 and is responsible for 1% or less of all gun deaths” But hey, I’m used to living in the twilight zone at this point…
