    I've had both.

The Benelli seems closer to being a "Military Grade" gun IME and is what I'd have if support/parts are few and far between. (Some dirt bags broke into the ranch and stole the gunsafe the Benelli was in.)
The 1301 is what I currently have at home, seems to shoot softer and has been completely reliable.

I checked out the aridus for the shell cady and co-witness mount for my T-1, is the nordic extension the way to go? I also want a sling and weapon mounted light what is the best setup for that?
Nordic makes a ~2 oz tube clamp that you can put a rail on, as well as screw either a swivel, QD cup or Magpul/IWC clip loop onto. I run one on my M2, and love it. When I buy a 1301 I'll either swap it over or just duplicate the setup.

I know this is running off-topic, but I'm another M2 fan...

Bud's is selling brand new "special edition" M1 (basically a M2 with M1 furniture) for $750. (I'm not affiliated with Bud's except as a customer.)

I have a couple of these, having failed to find anything better.

Minor PITA: You must remove the rail from the clamp to remove the clamp from the gun.

I prefer the fixed choke. The bolt release was an overblown issue, and now a non issue with a $10 shroud.

Unless they found a secret stash of Gen 1 guns, the ones they have will be Gen 2's. This came from my Beretta rep who said that anything ordered by dealers after the first of the year will be Gen 2's. I sent him a few texts last night after reading your post and he called me back this morning.

Does this mean the chokes are interchangeable on the gen 2 guns?
