    Barrel/handguard/FH combo question.

I don't have all the parts yet and wanted to ask before I buy.

I want to build a 300BLK upper for a pistol. I have a Noveske Gen I upper receiver. I would like to build this out using a 8.5" Noveske 300BLK barrel with low pro gas block and a Knights Armament 8" URX 3.1 handguard. I would like to use a Surefire Warcomp as my flash hider and suppressor attachment. Will this combo give me enough room to attach a Surefire SOCOM 762 or would I need a longer barrel? I figure the barrel gives me .500 inch but will be used to attach Warcomp. and not sure how much room is needed to attach SOCOM?

    Any thoughts?

8" URX 3.1 needs a 9" barrel (could squeak by with an 8.75"). The old AAC uppers utilizing the 8" URX 3.1s used 9" barrels.

Also, the SOCOM762s are considered to be poor performers when paired with .300 BLK.

Thanks for the info. Why are the 762;s considered to be poor performers? I bought mine like a month before Surefire release a dedicated 300BLK suppressor.

From what ive read, its one of the loudest 762 cans when on a 300blk.
Iirc the baffle design was optimized for high pressure 308 and just doesnt supress well on a 300blk.
Im not sure if its as “bad” on supers as subs.

You need .67 to clear the SOCOM. And that's stretching it.

The SOCOM 7.62 RC was designed for 300 wm. So pretty much it sucks on 300blk. The SPS300 is much, much better.

    lets move on:

    Noveske 11.5 barrel
    KAC 10.75" rail
    AAC 51T flash hider

would this combo work giving me only .75 inches of barrel out the rail?

This is my same setup, although I don’t have a Noveske barrel, but a DD 11.5. KW. Helped me set this up. It’s a perfect setup especially with my can.
