Thanks for the update. Based on what you said... what's your current preference for a .308 optic on the AR platform? I'm still learning and buying the wrong optic the first time can be costly...
Oh boy, here we go…
1-6X Vortex Gen II HD
1-8x Leupold Mk8 w Horus (I don't dial much with this scope, hence the Horus)
Or, the scope I'm really digging now, NF 4-16 F1… it replaced a Leupold 3-18x, which I liked for small size and weight, but mine wouldn't track for shit.
This is just personal preference, for a gas .308, but ask 100 guys, you will get 100 diff answers.
Good Luck.
Trident, your guns always look like they have a fresh coat of oil on everything.
Like Spin Drift, I'm partial to the new ATACR 4-16x42 F1. At times I feel like the 2.5-10x24 or 32 would be a better fit, but then I look through it, let out a contented sigh, and pull the trigger.
I really like the SOPMOD stock, but started running others because of the not-so-rear-bag-friendly design. Instead of doing real work today, I drew and 3D printed a bag rider, which also blocks the adjustment lever from working the normal way. You can still adjust the length of the stock, but you have to lift the lever. Now there's zero chance of accidentally pressing the lever with a rear bag and ending up with a scope on your face.
And yeah, it's ugly, but such are the limitations of extruder printers. At least it weighs only half an ounce, and cost 10 cents!

I think it's pretty cool.
