The SlaveX effect is real - but while they're the only shop in town that is really perceptibly moving the needle, they'll still have access to that talent, if not for the sustained long haul, for long enough to make an improvement.

Pretty big day at Kennedy if the weather cooperates. First time we've sent Astronauts into orbit on an American rocket from American soil in nearly a decade.

Having worked with Space X for almost 13 years as a vendor for their flight vehicles, it's always been interesting. The turnover is high. Long hours, low pay, heavy use of interns, etc. Nothing unusual in that and the folks who leave with do so with resumes they can use to launch careers.

The talent level is high and so is the enthusiasm. On the plant floor, the machinist, etc are hard working and skilled. The growth at the facility has been incredible. I'm torn with what's going on now. I fully see them leaving California. Part of me hopes they do as it will be slap in the face to Sacramento, but I'll miss going over there as much as I do.

Had the chance to hang out inside Dragon before they fitted it out. Not my pic (camera's are not allowed), but this was my view.

Looks like weather is going to prohibit launch today.

They can take your stem cells up there to space and 3D print you a new heart out of your own cells. It can't be done on earth. Israel is close to doing on the ground but not yet.

So yes space program is good and I favor private and government partnership.

Elon is just an alien marooned on Earth trying to use our primitive technology to find a way home.

Okay, seriously; if given the opportunity who would take the ride as part of a manned mission to Mars. I would in a heartbeat.

As long as it's not a One-Way trip like Mars One proposes...

They went bankrupt and closed down shop... The airport kept the “spaceport” moniker, for now at least.. Maybe SpaceX will come to WTX as Blue Origin already has operations here.??

No I mean like in The Martian minus being stranded alone on Mars for 549 Sols. Unfortunately Kate Mara and Jessica Chastaine won’t be coming along for the trip.
