Its not a big deal, just annoying. As long as both are spot on your GTG. Mark has one and it drives him crazy because he shoots irons a fair amount. But more than anything, if your anal it will give you as twitch every time you look at it. Otherwise its fine.

Like others said, nothing wrong. If both optics and irons are zeroed independently, it is just where that particular rifle shoots to. I have one Colt that has a far right bias regardless of what rear iron I use, it is just where that rifle hits. All of my other rifles are pretty much centered.

As far as matching optics to irons, that will often get you in the ballpark, but you should still confirm zero independently of each other as there may be a slight difference. Same for returning the optic to the rifle after being dismounted. It may look pretty close, but there may be some deviation that really only shows up shooting at your far zero.

Okay I also noticed the gas block is slightly canted but not much the rifle cycles so can this cause any issues with reliability?

The two sighting systems have independent zeroes. Or at least they should, when done correctly.

If the gas block moved after it was installed (to a position that allows the rifle to still run), it's quite possible that it can move again in the future (to a position that won't allow the rifle to run).

The correct action is to solve the gas block problem and re-zero the irons.
