I had one and like it, had to let it when I was broke. I wish I still had it.

Not enough of a sharpshooter to know how accurate it is, but I love my Kino sans free foat. Sure, it is noticeable when contrasting with a lightweight 11.3” barrel, but not a big deal.

I've been kind of interested in the Kinos for years, I currently still do the fixed FSB thing on all my ARs so I'm fine with that.
I'd probably pair this upper with a rifle receiver extension/buffer and an A1 length fixed stock though. Because fixed stock carbines are sort of a weird little fondness I have.

Same. I've been eyeballing that configuration for a long time, but never committed.I always assumed that I'd pair the kino with a collapsible stock, but part of me always wondered "what if" with the Magpul fixed carbine stock.

1)FSB is the most durable and resistant to POI shift iron sight available. They are genuinely hard to eff up.

2)Carbine length handguards suck, and there are not a lot of midlength 12.5” FSB-ready barrels available.

    3) Some people believe that form 1ing a 14.5” is a waste. Kino is the shorter way to get a middy handguard and FSB.

I actually have a Sully stock to go with my Kino. Super heavy, and not what I have installed now, but I can’t let it go.

I did a form 1 sbr with a kino this year. Run a gemtech trek on it. Like it a lot.

My "Max Reliability" / Simplicity /Cheap Kino setup.

No rail, A5 pistol tube buffer, cut down SBM4, ACT trigger, DD fixed BUIS, DD micro mount.

Minimal extra moving parts or anything fragile to break, at least that's the idea that mostly came out of not wanting to remove another painful BCM FSB ;-)

Trying out a Primary Arms ACSS reticle dot on there and it actually enables easier hits on steel silhouettes to 300. Although admittedly not known for "Max Reliability"

I'll probably put an old Micro or Pro on it when another one gets upgraded... Oh and alumnahyde the lower too!

Thats a very nice setup. How’d you get the SL handguard on it without punching the FSB pins? Is BCM now shipping these with round endcaps?
