Which .308 AR is Hot? Which is not?

Looking into a .308 AR early next year. Budget is about $2k. Which .308 is hot right now? Which is not?

Features I'm looking for is:
Piston driven, 1st choice. DI, 2nd choice.
18" barrel, 1st choice, 16" barrel 2nd choice.
Compatible with Magpul Mags is a must.
Ability to use other Magpul products like the MOE grip, and triggerguard.
Able to use ACS stock.
Full length rail or ability to add the DD 308 rail.

And to clarify...what lowers exactly won't take Magpul mags? It's the Armalite lower, right?

Try the "beyond 556" forum. Tons of good info there. But you will have one hell of a time with a 2k budget. Ain't gonna happen with a piston.

I've never heard of them. How good are they? I ran a search, but there were only two threads, and this is one of them.

although it doesnt meet every want you have, the LMT is the best thing you can get for what youre looking for.

Noveske lowers take Armalite mags. The RRA LAR-8 uses Fal metric & L1A1 inch pattern mags. Another company was developing a lower to take HK G3 mags, but I don't know who or what current availability is. Iron Ridge gives you the choice of either Armalite or KAC magazines with their lowers.

I think there is a lower that uses KAC magazines and an Armalite upper
