Why the hell do I want a .38 Super? -- PICS

    Why??

Why would I want to add another caliber to my line up, why would I want to add another magazine system?

Why would I want to get something that a 9mm +P could do just about as well?

    Why dammit, why?

'Cause I think I want one.....

Because you want one of the awesome Mexican-style chromed Colts. Preferably including grips with the Virgin Mary on them.
Let those who are fond of blaming and finding fault, while they sit safely at home, ask, ‘Why did you not do thus and so?’I wish they were on this voyage; I well believe that another voyage of a different kind awaits them.”

In a race gun sure, but for a carry peice or practical plinker, no.

    WHY?

    1) Because you want one.

    2) Because you can.

    3) Every one needs a "Pimp" gun. (Except me)

    4) The optimum number of guns for a man is "One more".

    5) Who knows, later on you might not be able to.

    Great Little Cartridges

I owned a .38 Super Series 70 Colt 1911 many years ago and I have to say that I love this little cartridge. I bought it originally with intent to turn it into a Race Gun but ended up instead using it as a small game hunting pistol. Numerous Squirrels, Rabbits and Racoons fell to this pistol. I shot three red foxes with it over 5-years and two coyotes. Remington +P cases, Remington 7 1/2 SRBR Primers, 9.5 grains of Hercules Bluedot behind a Hornady 140 grain XTP Hollow point was a superb combination in my old pistol.
But one and you wont be disappointed.
