What you have in the pic is the K model. My MKE had some oddball issues but anything you bought is gonna be better than a Coharie gun, so dont regret that decision one bit. What did you pay for that K?

Oh yea, I see the first page... K model... It was at the Dallas gunshow for $1,499 NIB. Only bad part was the $116 in TX state tax..! So I would have much rather spent the $1,200 (vs $1,600), since I don't pay tax when I have stuff shipped here. Albiet I feel like a Patriotic Texan now for forking it over. Rrrrrrright...
I have a buddy that is a class 2 manufacturer, and an expert in HK stuff (I've need his MP5 Re-marks and they are NICE). I may pay him to put a 3-lug barrel on it. My objective was to own a gun collection of guns I used in the USMC (Baretta, M4, MP5, MEUSOC .45 1911, etc)... Thus, I may have to have him add the longer barrel (is the cocking tube hard/expensive to do)?
I've had a lower w/ Jayson Cotter and he converted a picto from full auto to semi, and clipped/pinned for $150... I wonder if I could have done the parts swap with a FBI pack..? NOW, that I have an MKE, I wonder if he'd charge me much more to drop a trigger/hammer/sear in..?
Double post removed again.
Theres no real good way to turn a K into a full sized MP5 (short of selling it and buying one:D) but I would just keep what you have. If you want it to be authentic to what you used in the service, go for it. Otherwise, I think the K is the more unique MP5 variant, and its a lot harder to find quality K clones than traditional MP5 style clones. And as far as the price difference, its worth it. Trust me you dont want a Coharie.
thanks for the great read.
