I recently received my plates. Being my first set of hard plates I don't know how valuable my critiquing is. They looked pretty decent to me. A little thick but they feel pretty light. I can take some pics if you'd like. I placed mine in a Shellback Banshee carrier and the fit was very good.

I have a PIG... Pics would be great, particularly measuring thickness (or a report about how thick it measures).... Weight if you can get that (to verify it weighs as advertised) and did you buy level 3+ or 4?

I've got a banshee so I'm curious to see this.

Wonder why their 3+ plates are more expensive than their 4? They also state that NIJ test reports are available for both the 3+ and 4 plates.

    Those price are very attractive.

Level 3+ plates weigh 4.5lbs, Level 4 plates weigh 7.5, if you watch the videos of these two plates, while the level 4 can stop 30-06 AP and is technically multi hit rated, it's obvious each rifle shot tears that plate up more than the 3+. Owner of Armour Wear hit the level 3+ 21 times in the video he made testing it and it kept on ticking and wasn't visible torn up like the level 4 was... It looked kinda like the midwest armor plate & Tac3s military arms channel tested after getting hit multiple times.

The level 3+ plates are what interest me, it would cover 99.9% of foreseeable threats. The only unlikely event I could ever imagine a level 4 plate being more useful in North America is if you happen to find yourself fighting a guerilla war against Russian and Chinese forces occupying the US, something I don't exactly lose sleep over at night.... I know a few out there have Garands with AP ammo but generally speaking they aren't the people I'd be worried about needing to defend myself against.

    Front plate:

    Back plate:

Both plates measured ~15/16" thick and fit great in my Shellback Banshee carrier. The front plate comes in at 4lbs 14oz and the back plate 4lbs 15oz on my never calibrated analog food scale.
Let me know if someone wants more pics of the plates, in the carrier, etc.
