I don’t know if I would want a replacement from PSA.
Off topic... I purchased an AP 308 and had nothing but problems. After I raised hell, they sent replacement parts, then eventually took it back, changed out all sorts of parts and sent it back. I still had problems and they tried to send more “free” replacement parts. At some point you have to part with junk and move onto quality products.

This is one of the big reasons to be part of this community--when somebody clearly does a member (or even just friend of one) dirty, the Big Guns come out on the aggrieved's behalf.
Or even a NOT-good AR owner... hell, I got dragged into the AR community kicking and screaming, and my perspective now is more appreciation of its practical virtues than any kind of "love," and yet here I am settling in to try to learn from the masters. (I'm really a Thompson guy at heart... but TSMG's lack adaptability, fire a weaker cartridge, and make Ambulance Chasers blow loads in their skivvies when you use them in Self/Home D.)

I have always been somewhat of a PSA defender. I have had about a dozen uppers from them. All were Chf fn barreled uppers except for 2 freedom beater uppers. I have a half dozen stripped lowers from them. Never had a serious issue, and when I did, they took care of me. Note: I also have higher end stuff from other companies as well.
That being said, with some of the shenanigans I have heard of them pulling lately I may never do businesses with them again (accept for some gold dots maybe lol).
But.....when you pay 250 for a complete upper, as long as it goes bang, what do you really expect. Either way, they advertise mil spec, so they really should take care of them.
I will also say this. I recently picked up a great deal from ballistic advantage. The barrel was on sale. Came with a free upper and came with a pinned GB. I picked up a handguard on the E&E here, and for not much more then a pos freedom upper, I have an upper with nice fit and finish, built by me (whom I kind of trust).

It's forums like this that need to keep these Mfg's honest and make sure they live up to their promises they've made under their warranty and if not they need to get exposed.
I don't understand why PSA would turn down a obvious Mfg. defect, it doesn't make any sense
Is it a psa, I just see a bad upper, could it be psa, of course... they are a budget brand that gets stuff made as cheep as possible to assemble and sell.
I took a shot on an freedom A4 upper and it's awesome, as accurate as any other standard upper and all ways goes bang with steel cased ammo. Might of been 300 bucks. Tossed a primary arms advanced micro dot on it. Can't beat it for the price.
Do I think it's as reliable as my LMT's or the Scar that I picked up last week? Hell no...
But is it good enough to take up into the mountains, bang steel and not worry about, definitely.
I have spent more money un****ing my scar (handguard, trigger, stock and color) thank I have in my A4.
