Terrorist Attack In Moscow Friday...100+ Dead

    https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68652380

Russia has charged four men it says attacked a Moscow concert hall and killed at least 137 people.

Three were marched blindfolded into a Moscow court while the fourth was in a wheelchair. All were charged with committing an act of terrorism.

The Islamic State group, or IS, said it carried out Friday's outrage at Crocus City Hall, and posted video.

Russian officials have claimed, without evidence, Ukrainian involvement. Kyiv says the claim is "absurd".

The four were named as Dalerdzhon Mirzoyev, Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, Shamsidin Fariduni and Muhammadsobir Fayzov.

They look a little rough in the photos. It will be interesting to see what Russia does to them. Quick execution or drawn out torture and worked to death?

I’m sure it will be very unpleasant whichever way they go.

Sounds like they earned it. The attack was fish in a barrel, they attacked a rock concert attended by 6,000 people but set fires before the shooting started.

Right now Russia / Putin wants to draw a direct connection to Ukraine but I think sooner or later Putin will get around to IS, this isn't the first time they have attacked Russia.

It is also a f'ing shame we are at odds with Russia over so many things because we definitely have commonality when it comes to this kind of BS. Some of the blame is us going back to Bush (43) but plenty of blame begins with Putin and his willingness to start shit where shit isn't warranted.

And even with a warning from the US that IS was planning some kind of public attack, Russian intelligence completely missed this one and that is kind of concerning, internal state security is traditionally one of the things Russia is really good at.

I wish the USA had kept it's word about not expanding NATO east, I think the world would be in a better place right now. We should have the same enemies in common, rather than us being enemies.

“ISIS bears sole responsibility for this attack. There was no Ukrainian involvement whatsoever,” National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said in a statement.

Apparently the US warned Russia. So, we may be in the middle of a proxy war, we still seem to be attempting to assist with a common enemy, Islamic terrorism:

"The 7 March warning from the US to its own citizens was unusually specific. It talked of reports that "extremists" had "imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow" and specifically mentioned concerts. It advised Americans in the city to avoid large gatherings over the coming 48 hours.

The timing may not quite match, but other details do tally closely with events on 22 March. It seems clear Washington had some kind of intelligence and that it related to Islamic State (IS) - the group that has issued a statement saying it was behind the Moscow attack.

As well as the public warning to its own citizens, the US also said it had communicated with the Russian government directly.

"The US government also shared this information with Russian authorities in accordance with its long-standing 'duty to warn' policy," a US official said in a statement after the attack."

What wouldn't the Biden admin say/do to provide cover for Ukraine?
