If you have a Dremel and some cajones you can make your own M4 feed ramps in the barrel ext using a cylindrical stone like a chainsaw sharpener.
I argue against the need though. My first AR was assembled many years ago by an idiot noob (former me, I'm now an experienced idiot) and had a rifle barrel ext and an M4 cut lower. Thousands of rounds on the dog town and no probs. the rifle-length gas system likely cycled slowly enough that the cartridge was always at the top of the mag.
