    It appears that it is clamped on the barrel but there is actually a metal tab that clicks into the front of the stock. You can kind of see it in this photo. It doesn't contact the barrel...

    Here is my M24 rebuild as I received it and how it sits today. I put it in one of the M24 AICS's and got a PH 3-15. Love this gun , it shoots very well.

    For whatever reason it was not bad for me, I must have caught them in a period of low orders or high production. I ordered at the begining on April 11th and received the rifle in the last week in June. The sticker price seems high for a lot of people but I am very happy with the rifle for what I paid.

    How much where they again? I can't remember like $2500 or $3000?

    $3500 from what I saw in the link. Lot's of money for a 700P with an old MK4, but I guess if it flips your skirt...
