I am looking for a good way to store G.I. 30 round magazines. I dont have any more room in my tool box to store them and my gun safe is to small. I have seen pics of ammo cans being used that seem to work very good what size ammo can should I look for? I have 11 G.I. 30 round mags and plan to buy at least 9 more.
Thank You.
See if you can locate a 40MM can. They hold over 3K rounds of loose ammo and probably close to 30 mags.
I use a Fat 50 cal can also known as a SAW Box.
I can fit 28-30rd mags in the can in 4 rows of 7. Then 2 more 30rd mags laid flat on top. Thats a total of 30 -30rd mags. You can also squeeze 2 more 20rd straight mags on top.

John
I got these padded NOD cans when my brother in law worked at Litton in Tempe a few years back. They’re like the size of two fitty cal cans on top of one another.
Thanks for the replies my work room is tiny with a roll around tool box, work bench, compact fridge and gun safe. Also have plans to put in reloading bench ![]()
If I can get it cleaned up LOL it looks like the .50 cal can is going to be my best bet maybe get 2 of them loaded with mags and ammo I can stack them under my bench so the wife wont see whats in them
and freak out  LOL
Can I still stand the mags in the .50 cal can with magpul L-floor plates?
My house… I have a gun cabinet large enough to store all the mags you may have. ![]()

112 BH 75 grain, 560 XM193 in SAW Box = 672 total
plus 500 XM193 in .30 cal can
1,172 GRAND TOTAL
This was my training class load-out, as well as what I took out of the house when I evacuated for hurricanes, for a good long while.

Rob,
That is beautiful. Almost brought a tear to my eye.
