Hello! I’m getting ready to start my first 9mm ar, well my first personal ar15 in any caliber. I already have some of the parts, including the new lower (a QuarterCircle SF glock mag) a LPK and a ARMS #40 rear sight my husband gave me. I was wondering if anyone has used the ARMS #40 front sight? Are they as well made as the rear sights are? I’m also trying to find a good slick side upper to start with. Maybe even one with a shell deflector, but no dust cover. Something unique looking.

Aero Precision has a good deal on their uppers. I have one and I like it. Pay a little more and you can get a Vltor.

Very nice. I’ve been looking at everything online. Noveske seems to be the top dog in the high quality department. Probably a little pricey for me on my first at though.

is not having a shell deflector with a 9mm a big deal?

So is anyone using the ARMS #40L-f front BUIS? I was looking at using one to pair with the #40 rear sight I already have. I’m guessing it a same plain mounted sight and not a gas block mount?

Well My upper came today, along with the GSE buffer system I got from another member here (thank you sir!) I went a totally different route with the upper. I got a forged total slick side. It’s getting there, unfortunately the rail I picked is still out of stock everywhere :frowning: I’m getting ready to order the barrel, a 7" Wilson from JSE surplus.

Really coming along now :smiley: The barrel came today and my YHM Phantom QD is inbound. Just need to pick up the front BUIS and the 9mm “glock” Bolt assy. Hopefully I’ll be shooting by March!

The YHM Wraith mount came in the mail today:D It fit perfectly. I was really starting to worry that I went to short with the barrel @ 7". I was afraid the shoulder of the mount the can locks against was going to end up inside of the forearm…which would of been disastrous since the Wraith Can is larger than the ID of the Forearm. Needless to say as the pics show…it fit perfectly, better than I could of hopped for.

The way it is now with the can mounted it be just about a 1/16th of an inch forward of the rail. I absolutely CANT WAIT to shoot this thing! And waiting on the form 1 is going to seem like FOREVER :stuck_out_tongue: I think this is going to be one sweet little machine as an SBR.
