My LMT MRP Build

I’m pretty much done with this build, just need a SF Scout 300a.

LMT MRP 16" Piston Upper, Rec. Ext.
BattleComp 1.0
KAC Handstop, Micro BUIS
Ergo Grip
G&R Tactical LPK
JD Machine Lower
Magpul CTR, Trigger Guard
Noveske QD Receiver End Plate
Aimpoint COMP M4s (LT Mount on the way)
Brownell’s Alumahyde II Coyote

Let me be the first to say that you have one badass MRP!! How did you maintain the laser engraving after the alumahyde finish? Well done!!

Cheers

Thank you. I have no idea how I maintained the laser engraving; it just worked out that way. A thin coat or beginner’s luck perhaps.

how do you like the BattleComp?

Damn dude, that is freakin’ sweet. Great job with the coating…super badass!

If Buddy and the_accuser have given their approval on that absolutely fantastic mrp…than count on it having my nod as well considering those dudes are my MRP brothers from another mother and they know the MRP platform up and down.

I cannot tell you how nice it is to see someone take the naked MRP chassis and really push the AR performance envelope as I know of no other platform that can come close to what the MRP offers. Great job and keep us updated on that truly awesome build.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Nomads, I haven’t had a chance to shoot with the BattleComp yet. I’ve been pretty busy, but I have next week off between summer and fall semesters and I will surely find time to shoot!

I think that rifle is unique to all the threads I’ve browsed.

Very Nice. Looking forward to an update after you shoot it with the BC.

And Trident, could you please quit pointing at everyone :D?

Is the laser engraving visible to the naked eye or did the flash photography illuminate the markings? Just curious as I do not see the markings in all of the photos.

Cheers

The engraving is visible to the naked eyes. It is not nearly as pronounced as the original white on black lettering, but none the less, the engraving is visible.

The brown truck dropped off a couple of new things: Tango Down and Ergo ladder rail covers, and a LaRue QD mount for the M4s. I didn’t like the feel of the Ergo grip so I swapped it out for a MOE grip. The mil-spec trigger group and KNS pins were replaced by a Geissele SSA trigger.

Finally got a chance to shoot with the BattleComp today. Well it works as advertised. Controls the muzzle/recoil well, follow up shots are a little quicker, and the flash is comparable to an A2 FH. The SSA trigger is a dream. Smooth and extremely crisp.

Great decisions imho…and yep, the G triggers are an absolute dream to shoot and worth every penny they cost. I also think ditching those damn kns pins was great move. As for the MOE, that is the only one I will use these days…I did at one time enjoy ergo’s but the MOE is just kiss and has the contour my hand likes best I guess. MRPs call to you in the night begging to be refined or at least they do in my case;)

That build really is one of the finest I’ve seen in some time and its extremely well thought out and well executed. It will prob. never be done but if it were, I certainly think its about as nice as you can build or buy an AR.

You and buddy must be twins…MRPs…FDE…Badass buggies i.e. Jeeps

Well Done

Well done Sir.

Your MRP has turned out very nice. Any particular reason you elected the Aimpoint M4 over the T-1?

Cheers

Now that I already have an M4s, I am “obligated” to put a T-1 on my next build. I guess there are worse addictions out there.

Well done on the paint, that is beautiful.

T-1 in KAC mount is nice. I’m running one on my 12" MRP and it’s great.

is LMT the only one who makes a true monolithic rail upper?

Mega also is monolithic. I recently got the mono single rail, it is very nice.
